Figuring out how to put an adult diaper on oneself or a loved one might be difficult if you're new to incontinence. The following is a guide on how to put on an adult diaper on yourself or someone else.
How Do I Put on an Adult Diaper on Myself?
Always ensure your hands are clean before handling your incontinence products to avoid transmitting any germs.
Step 1: Fold the diaper lengthways with the back sheet turned outwards. Make sure not to touch the inside of the brief to avoid contamination. Step 2: Place the adult diaper between your legs, front to back. The narrow part of the adult diaper should be between your legs. Step 3: Adjust the diaper until it feels comfortable. Make sure it fits snugly in the groin area and the back sheet is turned outwards. Step 4: Secure the tapes on both sides. It may be helpful to angle the tapes slightly upwards for a better fit around the legs. Secure the top tapes angled downwards to secure the waist better. Step 5: Adjust the edges and make sure it feels comfortable around the waist and legs. This is up to personal preference on how you’d like to adjust the brief, as everybody has different body types. Ensure the edges don’t feel like they will chafe or cause irritation. If that is the case, you can fold over any areas that seem sharp or you doubt will cause discomfort. |
